In this blog we are going to show you how to easily install WordPress on our hosting platform. They is various different ways to install, we'll give you fastest and most used methods to save time (and frustration!).WordPress is undoubtedly the most used content management system for users to easily manage, update and edit their own content easily. The WordPress CMS is also free and open source so you'll only need to pay for your hosting provider, and best of all it comes with 1000's of free themes plugins to integrate into your website.
Domain And Hosting Provider
Firstly you'll need a domain (website address) and a web hosting account to store your files and installation, you can get this from any recommended hosting provider either from ourselves by ordering here or through your own which has Softaculous included. If you've already got your own domain and hosting you can skip this step.
Simply find your perfect domain and check availability, we recommend .co.uk if you are a UK company or .com for worldwide. Press check availability and if the domain is shown in green then your domain is available to buy! Press "order selected" to continue onto the next screen and choose how long you'd like to keep your domain. Name servers are already set so you don't need to alter them and should be shown as ns1.host2.co.uk and ns2.host2.co.uk.
You'll now have the option to choose your hosting plan. WordPress Hosting is shown but we'll be using cPanel as it includes Softaculous which is a one click installer and includes WordPress making it much easier and faster, we'd recommend the cPanel option for basic users although we'll go more into depth down the page.
What Is Softaculous?
Softaculous is a one click application installer saving you time having to create databases and mess about having to download files before installing, Softaculous does this for you. Also includes over 400+ one click install scripts including blogs, content management systems, forums, file management and many more. For the full list click here
Installing WordPress With Softaculous
As we've just discussed in the previous section WordPress can be installed with Softaculous which is a one click install application, making it simple and easy to get your website up and running in just a few minutes with a simple walk through guide. Most hosting providers include Softaculous for ease of use and no technical knowledge is required.
Scroll down to the Software section, within that category click Softaculous Apps Installer.
In left-hand-column under Blogs Click WordPress and then on the next screen click install.
Ok you're now on the WordPress installation page where you can choose several different options
Choose Protocol - If you're website has an SSL certificate installed then the https would be chosen, if you are unsure contact your hosting provider or you can choose http as this option can be changed later.
Choose Domain - Your domain should be already entered here.
In Directory - Remove WP and leave blank unless you already have another installation at the root of your domain.

Your admin account is where you'll login so its very important that you keep these safe and secure to prevent other users gaining access to your website.
Your admin username can be either your name or a word you'll remember but we don't recommend you keep this as "admin" for security reasons.
Your admin password needs to be strong and consist of letters, numbers and other symbols if possible to make sure another party doesn't gain access.
Admin E-mail can be either your hosting e-mail or an alternative e-mail which you use to keep you updated about your website.
Choose your preferred language, this will be used on your dashboard.
Different hosts will show different plugins here but we've added Limit Login Attempts (Loginizer) by default to allow your website to be better protected from potential hackers and ones wanting to gain access to your website, you can customise this feature in your dashboard once its installed.
Within the advanced options section your database name and table prefix will of been created automatically unless you want to adjust this yourself.
The disable update notifications e-mail keep you informed on new updates available.
We recommend keeping auto update enabled as new updates are rolled out regularly protection your website from unwanted threats.
We also recommend enabling auto upgrade WordPress plugins and themes, again to keep your website protected.
Some providers also include the select theme section before installing, this can also be added after installation has been completed.
